To all our friends, families, & supporters, Mattapan residents, MFFC members, Brookwood CSA members, Vigorous Youth, and everyone in the greater Boston community: BR+A+CE is proud to announce the completion of our first project, completed in collaboration with the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition and Brookwood Community Farm.
COME JOIN US TO CELEBRATE THE OFFICIAL UNVEILING AND LAUNCH OF THE MATTAPAN MOBILE FARM STAND AT THE MATTAPAN FARMERS MARKET THIS SATURDAY MORNING AT 525 RIVER STREET, MATTAPAN, MA. SEPTEMBER 1, 11:30 AM.
We’re also thrilled to announce that the honorable Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston will be joining us for the unveiling ceremony. The Mobile Farm Stand Project has been an amazing journey filled with new friends, experiences, and lots of learning. We are grateful for the support we’ve received far and wide, and sincerely hope that everyone who has supported the project and cheered us on will join us for this awesome occasion!

The Mattapan Mobile Farmstand was delivered to MFFC today. The Mobile Farm Stand is currently being stored at City Natives, a dynamic community green space in Mattapan just blocks from Blue Hill Avenue and the Mattapan Farmers Market. City Natives is a half-acre horticultural learning center and native plant nursery. Thank you to Jeremy Dick for partnering with MFFC to assist in storing the Farm Stand.
We had a great time working with Aaron Legg of Trimount Ironworks at the Humphrey Street Studios in Dorchester. http://
Tenley Woodman, of the Herald Reporter also stopped by to get the latest scoop. It was a pleasure to speak with her and her team. We look forward to her article early next week.
The Vigorous Youth Group will be trained early next week by Metro Pedal Power so that they can navigate safely the terrains of Mattapan. If you happen to be in Mattapan, stop by the Farmers Market Mattapan Square from 10am to 1pm, Church of the Holy Spirit Parking Lot located at 525 River St. The Mobile Farm Stand will be on displayed next Saturday, August 25th. Canopy is on!
Before the farm stand headed off to Duncan Galvanizing, we snapped a few shots of the canopy in action. It looks great! Thanks Aaron!
We also picked up our produce bins from Seaport Graphics, and are really excited with the way they turned out. Thank you Stefanie Fullerton.
To all our awesome supporters, your stickers and postcards are signed, sealed and awaiting delivery. Thank you so much for your support!
Farm Stand Has Wings!
We had a meeting this afternoon at Aaron’s shop, Trimount Ironworks with representatives from the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition, Vigorous Youth, and Wenzday Jane from Metro Pedal Power to discuss the training and operations of the mobile farm stand.
We are all excited to see Aaron’s amazing work and thrilled to report he will be delivering the completed frame to Duncan Galvanizing of Everett for powder coating tomorrow morning!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Duncan Galvanizing for donating their powder coating services to us, as well as Metro Pedal Power for providing the training to our riders at Vigorous Youth. We would not be so close to seeing the Mattpan Mobile Farm Stand a reality without the generous support of these organizations as well as all others who have helped us over the course of the last several months. Thank you!
Dorchester Reporter!
The indiegogo fundraising campaign has wrapped up and the response was fantastic. Thank you so much to all those who donated, and those who spread the word. You’ve made a huge difference to the Mattapan Mobile Farm Stand! We’d also like to share a great write up in the Dorchester Reporter yesterday, by Tayla Holman.
We brought the canopy panels that Bud Saggal laser-cut for us to Aaron Legg at TriMount Ironworks on Wednesday, and they look fantastic. We can’t wait to see them installed!
We also want to give a special thanks to our Board advisor Antonia Better-Wirz from ABW Educational Consultants, who held a ‘carnival’ fundraising event with her family in Stamford Connecticut. Her three sons -ages 12, 10 and 8 – raised $110.00 towards The Mattapan Mobile Farm Stand. What a cute, amazing gesture! Thank you to their friends, family and neighbors who joined us in our fundraising campaign! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those individuals who are supporting our project even after the online campaign has ended. You are helping us reach our campaign goal: Cybele Clark Mendes, Steven Poon and John Marinelli Architects.
